If you’re a beer lover, you’re in luck because the largest festival of beer in the Southern Hemisphere is in Cape Town and better yet, it starts next week. Just a 15 minute walk from our front door, The Cape Town Festival of Beer promises great entertainment including a variety of brewers, food stalls and live music.

While you don’t have to be a beer connoisseur, you can expect to to see over 60 breweries – both local and international – with limited edition beers on offer especially for the festival. It’s a fun way to start the summer in the Mother City and you don’t want to miss it.

Between now and 9th December is a lineup of ‘ocean-conscious events’ happening across the city as part of the Wavescape Surf and Ocean Festival. Bringing you 29 surfing and ocean films from around the world screened in 3 indoor locations, there really is something for everyone.

Don’t miss the beach cleanup at Queens beach in Seapoint on 1st December then cruise to Clifton early enough for an ice cold sundowner or two before the annual Wavescape outdoor screening!

Up the Creek is South Africa’s second longest-running music festival. It’s set on the banks of the Breede river, arguably in one of the most Instagram-worthy locations of the summer. Each year, around 3000 people head over to (just outside) Swellendam for a 4-day festival of music, sun and a whole lot of fun.

The lineup showcases some of the best South African music talent and comics while providing facilities for an unforgettable camping experience beside the water. It’s a 2.5 hour drive from Cape Town but is definitely worth the road trip – just don’t forget to pack your inflatables to go floating down the river!

This world-renowned electronic dance music festival returns to Cape Town for the 6th year running with The Chainsmokers making their South African debut as one of the headline acts. As the largest electronic music festival in Africa, Ultra never fails to get heads spinning with their lineup which is packed full of the biggest DJs in the business. Secure your tickets, make sure your mates have too and get ready to go off!

We Love Summer are famous for throwing some of the country’s best festivals and this year they’ve collaborated with Kinky Disco to host THE New Year’s Eve party to see off 2018 in style. With 6 outdoor dance floors hosting the very best international & local DJs, a man-made dam to cool off from the sun and a swimming pool, it’s safe to stay you won’t be disappointed.
