So you’re going travelling and coming to visit us in Cape Town? Well, whether you are heading here solo or with a group of friends, we’d love to welcome you here.
We know there’s a whole lot of hostels in the Mother City but to help you out when making a decision on where to stay, here are seven reasons why Atlantic Point is the perfect home-away-from-home for the adventurous backpackers among us.
First things first – at Atlantic Point, we are all about having fun and meeting like-minded travellers. Our hostel prides itself on its atmosphere. Backpackers arrive here and are welcomed by our interns who are fellow travellers just like you, making you feel instantly at home and part of the AP family.
If you’re feeling a little apprehensive about being able to make friends during your travels, our social events including daily happy hour and the weekly braai make it easy to meet new people over a drink (or three).
Our friendly team are made up of people from all over the world – and they’re ready and waiting to welcome travellers that come through our doors each day. One of the best things about our team is that a lot of our interns are travellers just like you which means they know exactly what you’ll be looking for from your experience in the Mother City. On hand to provide a tonne of tips on where to visit, eat and drink, there’s no need to be scrolling the web for recommendations when our guys are around. They’re also in charge of running some pretty great events at the hostel so be sure to ask at reception for what’s going on during your time with us.
You can find our hostel in the beaut Green Point – a neighbourhood which lets you get back to nature with a park on our doorstep while being just a stone’s throw away from the city centre.
Within walking distance from us, you can reach and explore the Seapoint promenade. For those that are looking for a little retail therapy, the V&A Waterfront is less than a ten-minute walk from our doorstep and here you will find everything from local arts and craft stalls to some seriously great cafes and restaurants. You’ll also find popular tourist attraction, Two Oceans Aquarium and it’s also the place to catch the ferry to Robben Island.
We’re also just a ten-minute taxi ride away from landmarks including Signal Hill, Lion’s Head and the infamous Table Mountain – ultimate spots for hiking and sunset lovers.
It’s no secret that it can get pretty hot here in Cape Town – so, it’s a good job we’ve got a pool for you to chill out and cool off in. Our garden area is the perfect place to soak in the sun, relax on our sunloungers with a good book or even stretch and do some yoga before heading out to explore with your fellow AP guests.
What better way to see South Africa than on one of our expertly guided tours? In all honesty, we just love showing off our home and trust us – there’s a whole lot to show off. From safaris to shark cage diving, winelands to peninsula tours, we have everything covered. The hardest part is picking which one you want to do first – tough life, we know…
Our Cape Point tour is an especially popular one, but this may have something to do with the cute penguin colony you come across when we take you to Boulders Beach…
